Cold Fluid: Blue
Steam: Orange
Hot Outlet: Red
Control Signals: Green
ISA-style instrument bubbles and control signal paths are shown. In cascade mode, TIC-101 sends flow setpoint to FIC-101.

Mode: Single loop (TIC directly manipulates TV-101).
Process Inputs
PID Tuning: Temperature Controller (TIC-101)
PID Tuning: Flow Controller (FIC-101)
Disturbance Injection
Each disturbance creates a temporary upset and then decays back to base settings.

Cascade control uses a fast secondary loop (flow) inside a slower primary loop (temperature). The secondary loop handles steam-side disturbances before they propagate to outlet temperature. This improves disturbance rejection, reduces oscillation, and allows tighter temperature control. Typical industrial applications include heat exchangers, boilers, furnaces, and reactors.
